Version: 1.0.1
by: Aieny [More]
WifeAggro is a combination stopwatch and countdown timer to minimize the chance of catching wife aggro. Don't hit her enrage timer!

You can also use it to time recurring events, like boss abilities and the like.

Instructions for Use:
  • Left-click and drag the clock icon to move the timer around the screen.
  • Right-click the icon for a list of options.
  • To enable a countdown, drag the sliders to the appropriate number of hours, minutes, and seconds to countdown, then click Start.
  • Use /wife to see a list of options

Features:
  • Operates as either a stopwatch or a countdown timer
  • Customizable alert when the countdown is about to expire
  • Auto restart countdown upon expiration
  • Slash commands are available to macro timer commands
  • During a countdown, the time background indicates the amount of time remaining

* Fixed bug that prevented WifeAggro from loading properly the first time it loads.
* Changed packaging to include all Addon files in a single folder.

v1.0
* Added /slash commands to control the timer
* Added background to displayed time to show time remaining on countdown
* Starting the stopwatch or timer with the control panel closes the panel

v0.3
* Option to set the opacity of the full-screen red warning
* Option to display a custom message when the countdown is about to expire
* Option to set when the warning will be displayed
* Countdown timer now can be auto-looped
* Many buttons that are unavailable in one mode have been disabled
* Added an icon to the main window display

Yes, I just found that issue last night; I'll have an update as soon as possible to fix that. As a workaround, the first time running the game after installing the Addon, use /reloadui to force the Addon to reload.

Yes, putting everything into 1 folder named WifeAggro help me load /wife parameter and its options...

...just to find out it doesn't actually work...

None of the parameters for /wife actually do anything, bar the error code they produce.

If you want, I can screenshot each and every error?

But the errors are the same output as what @Razer posted.

Thanks. I guess my main use for this would be a seconds timer, that when it gets to 5seconds it does a custom alert to me. (e.g. 40second timer from the moment we enter combat that ticks down, and alerts me 5seconds prior to the timer reaching 0 with a custom alert i input, once it hits 0 it returns to 40 and recounts down etc)

Thats what i wanted out of this plugin from the start, however this plugin, even if it works as intended, isnt meant for that use so i won't be using it again myself but i thank you for your effort for people who need this
That's odd, I'll take a look at that. Assuming no errors, that is exactly what this Addon will do. I'm not sure why one of the earliest and more fundamental functions is failing (are you having the same issue with all commands?), but I'll see if I can reproduce the error.

As for its intent....it's meant to be a timer/stopwatch. I could have named it Timer115434 or something really generic, but I decided to have fun with the name

The .rar package seems to me, that it has files scattered outside the actual folder, however I extracted everything as it is now, without changing places or putting them in folders.

Any clue?

EDIT: Do I need a special frame to be enabled of some sort, or a library dependency is missing?
It sounds like you unzipped the files directly into the Addon folder rather than into a WifeAggro folder. Rift Frames is an embedded Addon (which wouldn't show in the Addon list as it is intended to be a subfolder within the WifeAggro folder).

I may need to look at how to better package the Addon, since it seems to be putting all the files into the root of the zip rather creating a directory within the zip to put the Addon files.

After your great updates you could add your addon to the category "raid tools" to offer it to a bigger community.
(its great to time the waves for akylios in p4- helped us a lot on our kill)

Not sure if this was intended or not but if you have the option unchecked to restart countdown on finish,
when the countdown is done, it switches to Stop Watch mode and starts counting seconds.

The /wife reset or /wife stop do not affect the stopwatch it seems.

Can we have it so if the loop (Restart countdown on finish) is not checked, when the countdown is finished it just stops and resets to the configured time?

This is what I'm trying to do:

Set the countdown to 10 seconds.
push my macro button for /wife start
After 10 seconds are counted down, it resets back to 10 seconds and waits for another /wife start
before counting back down another 10 seconds.

Can we get an option so it doesn't countdown, then become a stopwatch so the above is possible?

Thank you

I hadn't considered that; it won't be hard to add a seconds slider. As for looping the timer....I can do that too. But, you are right, I haven't yet implemented a way to stop the countdown and reset it. That is coming, though...as well as an option to disable the red screen notification and a custom warning message.

Give this new version a shot. I fixed the issue with the asserts (which shouldn't be triggering in a live environment, but the API is still in beta), and I cleaned up the options interface to make it more intuitive.

I still need to implement a method to actually stop / pause the countdown, though.

Sliders seem to be having issues at the moment, Zorba is taking a look. I wasn't receiving any assertion errors during my testing, but I'll look at it again and see if I can reproduce the issue.

Also, note that the top slider is for hours, the bottom slider is for minutes...that is intentional, even if I didn't really make that clear in the UI. I've got some plans for cleaning up the options interface a bit, that'll probably be my project for tonight =)
