Grid Snapping

Typing "/gadgets grid 8" for example, will snap all movement and resizes to an 8 pixel grid.
Type "/gadgets grid" with no number to reset snapping.


Quick Start



You will see a round button with a Gear icon in the middle of your screen. Drag this button to where you want it by left clicking and dragging.

Right click on the button and choose 'Add Gadget' to add a gadget to your screen.

Left clicking on the button will unlock (and re-lock) all of your gadgets. When unlocked, Gadgets can be moved by dragging their movement handles (the white gear icon at the top corner of each gadget).

To alter an existing gadget, right click on it's movement handle while gadgets are unlocked, and choose 'Modify Gadget'.

When moving gadgets around on the screen, you can align them to another gadget by dragging the move handle over the top of another move handle. The gadget you are dragging will align itself either horizontally or vertically with it. If you move the gadget too far from the horizontal or vertical axes, alignment mode will turn off (it should hopefully become clear when you try it!).

Macros

The raid and group frames allow you to specify macros for various mouse buttons and the mouse wheel. These are standard RIFT macros, with a couple of extra Gadgets features:

Use @unit to refer to the unit the frame is showing. For example "cast @unit Healing Breath".

Use modifer it you want:

I can increase the number of debuffs displayed very easily (TBH, I didn't think raid members ever got that many debuffs on them; I thought I displayed the same number of debuffs as the built in frames, but I could be wrong).

I haven't had chance to look at the missing stack counts yet unfortunately. I'll do this tonight.

The hover on buffs should be working, as long as you've got the latest version of the addon. It's not an NK style customized tooltip that appears under the frame, I use the game's own default tooltips instead. However, I haven't tested this specifically on the raid frames, I just assumed it would work as it does on the standard frames, as it's all the same code.

Well, it was in the raid ..
It does not have enough debuff display the number of stacks and buff, well, still does not display a description of the buff or debuff when you hover on it.

If that only effects the focus target, I wonder if it's actually a bug in Rift itself. The reason being, I have noticed recently that Rift's own focus frame keeps hanging around as an empty frame when I die. This might have started happening when they changed it so that your focus target remains through death.

I'll do some testing tonight, and see what's not happening where the focus frame is concerned.

Me again...

Noticed an issue today using a HealthOrb with the focus target

When you die the orb does not reset (remove from screen).

Had to re-target and focus again to get it to reset.

Loving the add-on, and as with the other person... hoping this gets most of the features done soon, so I can stop using minUI also.

Really liking Gadgets!!!!

Great to hear! Soon as that's put in, I can drop minUI, since it's no longer in development....

all my macros are written as
cast @mouseoverui spellname
cast spellname

and the actual heals themselves appear to be working... *shrug* no worries- I'll edit the text to @mouseover and call it a day- thanks for the heads up

I'm also seeing that some mouseoverui commands are not working. Is this an API limitation? Basic healing spells are working, however, Ward of the Ancestors would not function without clicking on the raid frame. I didn't have a chance to test mouseover cleanses...
Changing the location of buffs/debuffs is on the way, but it's not there at the moment, so no you're not blind

Mouseover macros should work fine, but unfortunately (due to restrictions in Rift), you have to use @mouseover and not @mouseoverui.

I suspect this is why some of your macros are working - you probably have @mouseover in them already.

Add-on looks amazing, first off.

A small request (or, I hope it's small, since I know next to nothing about lua...) would it be possible to add an option to change the locations of the buffs/debuffs? An option to have them populate on the top of unit frames instead of below them?

or does the option already exists and I'm just a blind moron?

Drag scaling of gadgets is great. Would be useful to have a reset option for scale, maybe right click the drag handle.

Thanks... was just tweaking UI for the day and was looking forward to testing the planar charges gadget out.

Will go back to the previous version until the fix.

I've found why the counts are not showing on creation. It's a bug that I'll fix as part of a set of improvements I am making to the unit frames library.

Tooltips for buffs are easily added. I had these in previously, but haven't got around to re-enabling them.

The missing stack count is a bug. There is code in place to display this already, so I need to investigate why it's not appearing. Again, this should be a simple and quick fix.

Now a new task)
Buffs and debuffs, first they have no description, the description of NkThing done.
It is not clear count of buffs or debuffs, which is not very good.

Just download your latest alpha to see and i tested your planar charge gadget but its only showing the icon without any number.

PS: Remember i'm using French client and it could be related.

Edit: reloadui did fix it

I'm going to upload the latest version as a beta on CurseForge now, as I haven't had chance to do enough testing for a proper release yet.

* Sigh, CurseForge seems to be misbehaving, it's failing to create the package. Fingers crossed it'll magically appear at some point soon, otherwise I'll look into it tomorrow morning as I need sleep

** Oh well, I bit the bullet and uploaded it here as the live version. Hopefully it won't fall to pieces...
