Grid Snapping

Typing "/gadgets grid 8" for example, will snap all movement and resizes to an 8 pixel grid.
Type "/gadgets grid" with no number to reset snapping.


Quick Start



You will see a round button with a Gear icon in the middle of your screen. Drag this button to where you want it by left clicking and dragging.

Right click on the button and choose 'Add Gadget' to add a gadget to your screen.

Left clicking on the button will unlock (and re-lock) all of your gadgets. When unlocked, Gadgets can be moved by dragging their movement handles (the white gear icon at the top corner of each gadget).

To alter an existing gadget, right click on it's movement handle while gadgets are unlocked, and choose 'Modify Gadget'.

When moving gadgets around on the screen, you can align them to another gadget by dragging the move handle over the top of another move handle. The gadget you are dragging will align itself either horizontally or vertically with it. If you move the gadget too far from the horizontal or vertical axes, alignment mode will turn off (it should hopefully become clear when you try it!).

Macros

The raid and group frames allow you to specify macros for various mouse buttons and the mouse wheel. These are standard RIFT macros, with a couple of extra Gadgets features:

Use @unit to refer to the unit the frame is showing. For example "cast @unit Healing Breath".

Use modifer it you want:

Is there any chance that the unit frames will add a reduced HP monitor thing. So that you can see when players max HP is reduced(such as in the Grugonim/Regulos fights)?

I dont think that is actually possible (at least reliably).

The castbar details, has no member indicating who it is being cast on.

Now, you could go off of the target of the owner of the castbar - but if they cast

cast @focus spell

Then as far as I can see, you couldnt retrieve this information. Once the spell lands, and does damage or applies a buff/debuff, you can get this information - but whilst it is being cast, it doesnt seem available.

Could I make a suggestion for the Cast Bar gadget:

Have the target of the cast rendered as well as the name of the ability, e.g.,

Fireball on Zazen

I wanted to add something to my custom raidframes...

So I went the route of a new VP - but couldnt figure out how to add it to gadgets, so I thought, "lets try just setting it and see what happens..."

Adelea's textures are now included, and I've added a tick box option to let you choose between the default large timer text, and Adelea's smaller bottom right text.

In Gadgets / wtCastbarGadget.lua
Move the property definition to the end of the file, so its not in the middle of the layout configuration.

I know nothing about lua tbh, so it is possible that what u said is right, but it isnt working for me, at least what i tried. I did comment out the old code with castname, and pasted urs under that, so it lookslike this:



Which gives me this:

Error: Gadgets/wtCastbarGadget.lua:104: ')' expected (to close '(' at line 96) near 'end'
In Gadgets / wtCastbarGadget.lua

There is 1 problem tho. Some spells' name is too long charwise. How can i set a char limit around 20? For example if the spell name is "Swift Frost Valmera Collar" then it would change it to "Swift Frost Valmera"
And that is why I made the font size multipliers what they were =P

If you want to change the name, then you will need to create a new property that does that, and use it instead of {castname} :

That codechange u gave me modified the spell's name's size, not the timer's. The right code is under that tho, so I can work with that from now on

EDIT: Oh and, sometimes i got a question mark instead of the spellicon. I dont think this is new info for u, since it happens with mounts too for example. Any way to fix this? Or is this some kind of restrictions on the API?
The ?? mark is when there is no spell icon given in the spell-being-cast's description. If you can think of a better way of doing it, I'm sure we'll listen =P

I didnt want to hide the icon when it wasnt visible, so opted to show the 'Unknown Ability' icon instead.

Regarding text sizes - if you make the text taller, you make it wider - and if your bar isnt wide enough, the text gets truncated. I experimented with a number of sizes, and went with what I did.

If you want to try something else, open up the wtCastbarGadget.lua file, and go to line 107, which looks like:

You can adjust the 0.4 multiplier to something larger if you wish, and also remove the limiter :

Regarding interrupts - the API doesnt give any information about a spell being interrupted - so the best that could be done, is see if a spell finishes significantly earlier than it should, and guessing. This leads to false positives and false negatives - so isnt really much use for anything!

EDIT: Oh and, sometimes i got a question mark instead of the spellicon. I dont think this is new info for u, since it happens with mounts too for example. Any way to fix this? Or is this some kind of restrictions on the API?

You can then choose the texture from the castbar configuration.

My screenshot was taken using the gradientL2D, with a color set to
Red = 0, Green =0, Blue = 1, Alpha = 1

I really like the L2D gradient - and (probably over)use it everywhere!
